Rex How, a South Korean native, is a publisher, author, and a social commentator. He entered the publishing industry right after obtaining a degree from National Taiwan University’s International Trade Program in 1978. Rex is considered a pioneer in Taiwan’s publishing industry; he played a key role in overseeing the publication of many foreign bestsellers in Taiwan, and he organized the first Taiwan delegation to attend the Frankfurt Book Fair.
Rex is also a keen observer of Taiwan’s public affairs. Among the various civic causes he has participated or initiated were the 2013 Anti-Black-Box Movement, the 2015 Students Occupy Parliament, and the 2016 Open Taipower. Having witnessed a number of social transformations launched by Taiwan’s youth, he believes that Taiwan’s future must rely on these youth’s intense drive to succeed.
Rex currently presently serves as the chairman of Locus Publishing Company and of Net and Books.
